Entry Requirements:


  • Secondary School award: Applicants must be in Grade 11 or 12 at a Central Okanagan high school. Home-schooled and on-line students are welcome.


  • Post-Secondary School Award: Applicants must be under the age of 30 and be enrolled in post-secondary education for September, 2024.


Submit a letter of reference from a teacher or community leader and a short bio highlighting any past pro-life involvement.


Submit an original essay of at least 1000 words.


Complete and submit the application form found at prolifekelowna.ca.


All documents must be submitted beforJuly 31st, 2024 by email.


A $1,200 1st place winner will be chosen for each category and announced before August 31, 2025.

Choose one essay topic:


· How to help restore legal protection for the unborn in Canada.

·       Why should abortion be illegal in Canada?

·       Why is assisted suicide (MAiD) morally wrong?


Grading (each criterion worth 25%):


· Is the thesis stated clearly and is well-supported throughout?


· Is the information well-organized and does it flow from one idea to the next?


· Is the grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and punctuation of high standard?


· Are the ideas presented clearly and backed with logic and facts, and is the essay impactful and persuasive?
